I want to write something about this event in a way that makes me sound like I’m heavily tangled up in the motorcycle scene, but I don’t think I could fool anyone. All those who own bikes already know about these events, but all of this is new to me.
The Brooklyn Invitational is a late summer custom mo-show that spills out onto the streets, and if you like really loud noise and BBQ then this event is for you. Be sure to also wander down to Indian Larry’s Annual Bloc Party for more music and mayhem. Go for the day, go for the weekend, these crafted bikes are a work of art.
If you so happen to find yourself in Philadelphia in June, love road trips and want to party then show up for the Barbary Breakout. This local run is an annual event organized by The Barbary in Fishtown. We went not knowing anyone and left with some great friends. Local bands play and then after-party in highway tavern next to the campsite. I hate camping and loved this.
In conclusion, when you are invited to a motorcycle run and you don’t know anyone.. just go. They’re really fun and the community is friendlier than most.
